pandit for funeral service

According to the Vedic process, all the processes that take place after death are completed in 4 days. In which on the first day there is a provision to merge the body received from nature into nature and after that there is a provision for worshiping the soul in different ways for 3 days, the details of which are being given below in order.

1st Day Cremation

When a loved one dies, the family should first bathe the dead body with pure water. If it is not possible to take a bath, then wash the entire body with lukewarm water with a cotton cloth. After bathing or purifying, Lay the dead body of a mat laying on the ground on that mat, make sure that the head of the dead body is in the north and feet in the south direction.

Take 250 grams of sandalwood powder and make a paste. Apply to paste well on the deceased’s entire body. all over the body and then decorate it with beautiful clothes. After completing the process of Ganga water basil in the mouth and bring it to the death Saiya. Even here, the head of the dead body is in the north and the legs are in the south direction. Tie the dead body well with ropes so that there is no problem during the journey. After trying it, all the family members and other people present, take flowers and garlands in their hands and offer a wreath on the dead body praying for peace and salvation of the divine soul from God the Father. Reciting the Gayatri mantra starts the last journey.

After reaching the crematorium, Pandit Ji will complete the process of cremation. Follow the instructions of Pandit Ji and duly complete the funeral procession with ghee and ingredients through Vedic mantras.

After the final method process, before sunset on the same day, put a photo of a dead person in the house, whose face is on the south side, put a white cloth on a table, and put a big lamp in it with ghee and light the lamp. This lamp will be ignited for four days regularly.

Those who perform the liturgical process will have to wear white dhoti and baniyaan or white kurta and pajamas.

2nd Day Shanti Path Havan

After death, there is a provision of only one worship for the body in the scriptures, which in the first day’s worship, we returned the divine body which was given by the nature to the soul to get pleasure from this nature, by performing funeral rites. . Even if we had not done this, nature would have included that body in itself. Because it is the rule of creation that the thing from where it is made, in the end it merges again. The body was a part of nature, therefore it merged in it, but the soul is a part of God, that is why the soul moves forward on the path to attain God.

On the second day, all the members of the family pray to God by providing sacrifices in the Yagya, the divine mantras of the Vedas, in which peace, salvation and salvation of the soul have been wished through Yagya, a special means of worshiping God mentioned in the Vedas. Because only God knows where and in what form that divine soul is today after leaving the body. And after the Yajna, the details related to death in religious scriptures like Vedas, Darshans, Upanishads, Bhagwat Gita, Ramayana etc. are heard by the Panditji to the family members in the form of satsang.

3rd Day Shuddhi Puja Havan

According to the scriptures, Sutak is used in both the stages of birth and death. At the time of birth he was named Sutak and at the time of death he was named Patak. Shuddhi Puja is performed to remove these sutak. At the time of cremation after death, many other small creatures also get burnt in the fire and the environment also becomes impure. That’s why we and our family also feel the blame for all this. We make atonement by performing Shuddhi Puja so that no harm is done to us or our family by that fault.

There is also a scientific basis for performing Shuddhi Puja. After the soul leaves the body, the dead body slowly starts to decompose. Where the dead body is kept, millions of microscopic germs and negative energy from the dead body start spreading in the surrounding environment. Family members stay around the dead body and often the dead body is kept at home. That’s why it has the most effect on the environment of the house and the family members. The biggest effect of negative energy is on the human mind. The longer the dead body is kept in the house, the more the effect of microscopic germs and negative energy coming out of it increases. That is why the family has been instructed in the scriptures to perform the cremation as soon as possible.

In ancient times, houses were made of mud, that is why on the day of Shuddhi Puja, the whole house was smeared with cow dung and sprinkled with Ganges water. Both these processes destroy the microscopic germs spread in the house. Along with this, mundan karma and nail cutting also shows this purity. Because these microscopic germs can remain safe for a long time in the hair and nails.

In the Vedic process, scholars believe that all the family members should perform yagya in the house for at least three days to protect the house and family from the side effects of micro germs and negative energy emanating from the dead body. By performing Yagya even the subtle germs are destroyed and the positive energy emanating from the Yagya destroys the negative energy.

4th Day Dev Puja

None of us knows where and in what form the soul is after leaving the body. If anyone knows, it is God. But today, wherever the soul is, it must be wishing for the welfare of its family. The main purpose of the fourth day’s worship is to wish for the welfare of the family. Those divine mantras of the Vedas are sacrificed in the Yajna, in which mantras have been wished for the welfare of the family. May God’s grace always be on the family, may there be no crisis on the family, may the family members recover from this sad hour soon, may the family members always be ready to complete the unfinished tasks of the loved one who has passed away. This kind of wish is done through worship.

Today is the last day of worship. The process of Vedic Pindadan, Pagdi vidhi, Pushpanjali etc. is done. On this day, other acquaintances of the family are also invited to express their condolences and lay wreaths at this sad time. After the puja, Pandit ji is offered food. After the meal, donations, and dakshina are offered to the Panditji.
